BELMAR, NEW JERSEY — The U.S. Coast Guard and members of the Belmar, New Jersey Police Department are searching for a 20-year-old man after he went swimming off the coast of Belmar on Thursday and could not be located.
The Coast Guard received a call at 8.06 p.m. local time from a member of the Belmar Police Department reporting there was a person in the water in distress.
A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet, a rescue helicopter crew form Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, and members of the Belmar Police Department along the shore are currently searching for the man.
