
The light of day oking thru the floor after superstorm sandy , still wasn’t to o bad compared to the rest of the pavilions

November 2 2012 , Matisse Belmar interior of 13th ave pavilion None of the windows at Matisse were broken, even though they faced the ocean waves. The windows were all boarded up by staff 2 days before the storm.The building was elevated about 5 feet above the boardwalk, so the storm waves did not crash as hard.Built in 1929 it withstood the storm pretty well.

Built in 1929, this building has seen a lot of storms, it did not survive , though it could have been repaired.
