Hurricane Katia Jersey Shore waves are getting big

What is good news for boarders is bad news for bathers.
Odds favor Hurricane Katia staying well offshore of much of the East coast of the U.S. However, there will be some issues with a hurricane making a run through the western Atlantic.
Bathers and boaters can expect rough surf and a high threat for rip currents today from the central coast of eastern Florida northward to Newfoundland and eastward to Bermuda.
Seas will continue to build on Friday along the coast of the Northeast and Atlantic Canada.
Into this weekend, waves generated by Hurricane Katia will propagate outward hundreds of miles from the center of the storm as the storm acts like a giant plunger.
